I know every girl loves getting her nails done but we must admit it’s usually extremely expensive and is very time consuming especially when the weather gets colder. I found a better way you can get your nails done just by saving up money for a few months! Try acrylic nails to get a dramatic look without spending too much money. Here’s how:
Your most important supplies would be your nail tips, files and polish. Perfect nail files would consist of an electric nail file that comes with nail bits, you can shape, polish, buff, etc.
Here’s a small tutorial:
- Your first step to doing your nails would be dehydrating the nail bed by filing it with a regular nail file, 80/100 or 100/180 file and/or you can use a dehydrator. (dehydrator is preferred after you sand your nails)
- Properly measure your nail tips with your nail bed, ensuring your nail tip aligns with your nail bed (Not too small and not too big on the sidewalls) afterwards you can cut and shape your nails to whatever size/shape you want
- Proceed to go on your nail tip beginning (Where your tip and nail bed would align) and use a sanding band to smooth out the surface, removing the unnecessary bump from the nail tip (This prevents breaking, lifting and helps with a flat surface)
- You then want to start applying your acrylic on your nails, the easiest way to fill up the whole nail with acrylic is usually in 3-4 dips
- After applying acrylic to all of your nails you go ahead file them to the shape you want, you will also need to sand your nails and file the acrylic from your cuticle area
- Wash your hands, make sure to scrub your nails to get off any dust and residue off the nails
- Do your design then top coat!!!! (Gel is preferred and can be dried by using UV/LED light)
Reminder: Acrylic powder won’t activate without monomer!!!!!!
You can usually find a YouTube video with links on what they use/prefer for beginners and sometimes even small kits from amazon, eBay, etc. There are even classes you can pay for to guide you through the process.
