We all know that getting a college degree will set up up for a better future. But college can be expensive! How do we pay for it? To help provide financial aid, the US Government has provided a form called FAFSA which stands for “Free Application for Federal Student Aid”. Essentially, this helps with college costs such as your tuition, books, dorm and any other expenses that deal with your education. To help yourself with the FAFSA application, please try talking with your school counselor in order to make things easier for you. Here at TCA you can go to the College Office (room 234) to get the process started.
Filling out FAFSA is free so you should only use the official website fasfa.gov. Some financial aid is awarded on a “first come first served” basis so the sooner you submit your FAFSA form better your chances you’ll earn financial aid you need. The amount and type of aid you’ll receive depends on factors like your family’s income household size and the number of family members the amount of family members in college, and the cost of attendance at your school. That’s why you’ll need to bring in a family members recent tax return. It’s important to note that FAFSA must be done every new academic year as your financial situation might change. But remember completing it early and accurately can make a huge difference making college affordable.
