How did TCA vote?

New York City mayoral elections were held yesterday, November 4th. More than two million New Yorkers voted this year according to the New York Times. Democratic-socialist Zohran Mamdani was the winner earning 50.4% of the votes. TCA held mock elections through the social studies department. Here are the results of our local election including a special survey about which issues are important in our school community. At TCA 63% chose Zohran Mamdani.

My name is Nevaeh Freeman, and I am in 10th grade. In the future, I want to be a paleontologist or a geologist, but I’m still young and that can change. In journalism, I want to inform people about the problems of our world, like climate change, air pollution, trash in the ocean, and the animals going extinct. I also want to show the talents of the students who do art and find out what it means to them and their thought process behind their art. I also want to talk about the TCA band and the band members to know and understand why they chose to be in the band and why they picked the band. But overall, I’m very excited to be on the journalism team because I feel like I’m going to learn a lot and do a lot.
