Today many people are stressing about the price of food. How can we cook healthy and tasty food at home without going broke? Here is an easy recipe that I made recently. It’s easy, tasty and affordable.
Mac-n-Cheese, Fried Chicken and Corn on the Cob.
Last week I made crunchy fried chicken, cheesy mac n cheese and buttery corn on a cob. And this is how I made it. First I took the chicken and tossed it in flour that was already seasoned with garlic salt, sazon, salt and pepper, and adobo. This made the flour very tasty. Then I mixed in an egg. I heated up some oil in a heavy bottomed pan and dropped in the chicken.I knew it was done when I cut the chicken in the middle and it wasn’t pink and bloody. The inside was well done, crispy, juicy and tender. Now for the mac n cheese, I started off by boiling water and putting a hint of olive oil and some salt to help the water boil faster. When it boiled I put the mac n cheese noodles in the water and mixed it. After that I let it sit for about 5 to 10 minutes. Then I drained the noodles and I put it back in a pot and I added 1 cup of milk, 3 spoonfuls of butter and some salt and pepper and 2 packs of shredded cheese. I put the stove on to medium and I started mixing until it got cheesy and buttery. And last but not least my favorite, the corn on a cob. I boiled some water and when the water boiled I put in the corn on the cob and I added some salt, pepper and 1 spoon full of butter. I let it sit and boil for 25 minutes and when the butter melted and the corn on the cob was done I knew it was done because it was juicy and it was dripping and it was sweet and good.
All together this tasty meal cost me under $25! I hope this inspires you to try cooking at home. It’s usually more affordable and always tastier!
