21 Savage, born Shéyaa Bin Abraham-Joseph, is a rapper who was born in the UK, but raised in Atlanta, GA. He is one of the biggest anomalies in hip hop, consistently dominating charts with songs that consistently are ten times more violent than every other pop song. He was detained by ICE for overstaying his VISA by 13 years in 2019, and he has recently decided to release a biopic about this, named “American Dream” and a soundtrack/studio album of the same name. And if this movie is as good as this album, 21 Savage should win 21 Oscars, because this project is phenomenal.
“American Dream” is 21 Savage’s 13th studio album since his debut in 2015 with “Slaughter Tape”. This is an amazing album in my opinion but, there are few songs that caught my attention the most those would have to be “redrum”, “pop ur sh*t ft. future”, and “dark days ft. mariah the scientist”. These particular tracks on the album stand out to me the most because they resonate with me on a personal level especially “dark days ft. Mariah the scientist”. Listeners might connect with this track because it focuses on a somber tone which some might enjoy. In my opinion this album has no songs that don’t work. All the songs on this album’s tracklist compliment each other perfectly.
