On Thursday February 29th, the George Washington Lady Trojans basketball team played a physical game and defeated the Petrides Panthers by a score of 46-29. The away game took place on Staten Island. A highlight was when senior Jayla Montgomery-Smith scored a three pointer during the second half sparking a comeback.
The Lady Trojans are an aggressive team that stands on business. They are known for their hard work and dedication to their sport. The Lady Trojans team had a game on Thursday 2/29/24 at 4:30 pm. It was an aggressive game against a school in Staten Island named Petrides. During this game, emotions were rolling up and down but finished with a whopping score of 29 to 46. The Lady Trojans have officially won their first round of playoffs. Senior point guard Jaylah Montgomery-Smith was one of the players who made a groundbreaking shot. She was caught saying “It was the first three to go in and once it went in, it was wet like water. I just knew that was it, we were going to win that game. This is what we worked so hard for.”
The Lady Trojans next game will be located in Staten Island against Int. Studies @ CSI. It is on March 5th, at 4:30. Make sure to be there to support our strong girls!
