Every Saturday morning my parents and I have a tradition of going out to eat breakfast to our favorite dinner. The name of the diner is the Raceway Restaurant, located at 833 Yonkers Ave, Yonkers, NY 10704. We have been going to this diner for almost about half a decade now and the food never disappoints! On Monday through Thursday they are open 7am-10pm, and Friday and Saturday they are open 7am-12 am. They sell breakfast, lunch, dinner, and even late night snacks to munch on. I chose this diner to write about because the wait staff there are always friendly and the best part is that even if it’s packed you will never have to wait a long time for your food to arrive because they work fast.
While we were in the restaurant I decided to interview our waiter. His name is Jose Guerrero and he is from Mexico! Mr. Guerrero has always been our waiter whenever we come here! He even memorizes our orders. I decided to ask Mr. Guerrero a couple of questions and he was happy to have answered them. The first question I asked him was how long have you been working here? His response was he has worked here for 35 years as a waiter!.I was completely blown away by how many years he has been working here. The second question I asked Mr. Guerrero, what food would you suggest to a first time customer? He then said “ For breakfast I recommend the grilled chicken omelet with vegetables, and for dinner romaine steak or salmon if they want fish.”
I would recommend this restaurant because it was not a long drive/commute and the prices are amazing here. I think people would like this diner because it has so many options; if you want pasta they have a pasta section, burger section, soup section, pancakes, and much more. This diner is a great place for picky eaters just like me. And the best part is if you come in during dinner time and you want breakfast they always have their breakfast section open in case you’re craving some waffles. My favorite thing to get here for breakfast is the chocolate chip pancakes with whip cream, I think this place is definitely worth coming and trying.
